SPR-4231: MEPDG Traffic Load Spectra for Local, Minor Arterial, Major Collector, and Minor Collector Roads
The Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) has been employed for pavement design by Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) since 2009 and has generated efficient pavement designs with a lower cost. The traffic input module in the current INDOT MEPDG pavement design procedures was developed from traffic data collected over a time period of 2000 to 2004. there is a need to utilize the recent traffic data to develop the traffic spectrum as more accurate key input for INDOT’s pavement design using the MEPDG.
