Research for the AASHTO Committee on Environment and Sustainability. Task 105. A Guidebook for Communications between Transportation and Public Health Communities
The purpose of this study is to produce a user-friendly guidebook for state and local transportation professionals that identifies the challenges and best practices for successful communication and collaboration between transportation and public health professionals. The guidebook should highlight the mission and processes of each community to enable a fundamental understanding between the professional communities. The guidebook should decipher industry "jargon", improve transparency about underlying assumptions, and identify successful practices for establishing and fostering partnerships between transportation agencies and public health organizations.
