Research objectives: Objectives 1 & 2 - Obtain and Combine Different Sources of Data; Objective 3 - Enhance Relevant Bridge Management Tools; Objective 4 - Focus on Common Bridge Types in Iowa; Objective 5 & 6 - Information on Maintenance Strategies; Objective 7 - Development of Predictive Models and Codition States; Objective 8 - Decision Tool with Direct and Indirect Costs; Objective 9 - Next-gen BLCCA for Iowa. Tasks: Task 1 - Collect and integrate data from in-house maintenance teams and contractors (Objectives 1, 2, and 4); Task 2 - Develop predictive models and integrate expert judgement (Objectives 1 and 4); Task 3 - Collect statistical data for main types of bridges in Iowa (Objective 4); Task 4 - Obtain cost and time information on maintenance strategies (Objectives 5 and 6); Task 5 - Develop a decision tool for life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) (Objective 8); Task 6 - Enhance relevant bridge management tools (Objective 3); Task 7 - Finalize and implement the developed Next-gen LCCA tool (Objective 9); and Task 8 - Preparation of the Final Report.
