Passenger Restriction Waiver Impact on Young Driver Crash Rates
This study aims to examine young driver crash rates for drivers who are and are not subject to the passenger restriction in the first six months of licensure. Rates for the subsequent six months will also be analyzed in order to see if rates change after the restriction has ended. Crash characteristics will be quantified through descriptive statistics. Crash rates during the first six months and the next six months of licensure will be analyzed with consideration for the passenger restriction status (waived, in effect, expired) and presence of passengers along with the variables related to licensing history listed above.
