SPR-4160: Programming of Road Projects During the Construction Season Considering Network Connectivity
The proposed research will develop a methodology that INDOT’s construction and contracts division can use to evaluate the systemic impacts of workzones on a network. The framework and the tools will be demonstrated in the context of case studies in the LaPorte and Fort Wayne Districts. The optimal schedule developed using the methodology will be checked with projects during past years, and the methodology will be validated in terms of the reduction in user costs and other attributes which may be surrogates for the impacts on users and the community.
