White Paper on “The Sustainability of Building Affordable Housing in Transit Oriented Developments (TODs)"
The popularity of and appetite for placing affordable units within a ½ mile radius of fixed-guideway transit has been fueled in part by the proposed cap-and-trade legislation. Affordable housing around transit stations is a funding priority for cap-and-trade revenues. Six Los Angeles’ plans reflects these funding priorities, and cap-and-trade revenues would supplement funds such as the transit-oriented affordable housing fund in the Bay Area.
