SPR-4002: Risk-based Specification for Construction
The goal of this project is to develop alternative inspection strategies for construction work to ensure the quality of the results. This study aims to develop 1) a risk model to quantify the risks associated with various testing and inspection strategies, and 2) a risk-based and performance related specification for construction inspection. The new specification will enable INDOT to allocate its limited resources to the riskiest areas and adapt its QA program based on contractor’s performance, while minimizing the risk to INDOT.
