Exploring and Expanding Accessibility Metrics for Transportation Planning
The purpose of this project is to demonstrate how accessibility evaluation could be incorporated into real-world transportation planning projects. It address two focus areas identified by the research program; State, MPO and Local Planning Capacity Building, and Safety, Environment, Environmental Justice, Visualization, and Public Health Planning. Phase 1 of this project will develop and demonstrate the use of accessibility analysis in real-world planning processes using publicly-available data. Phase 2 of this project will provide guidance for researchers and practitioners who seek to use existing accessibility evaluation tools and techniques in combination with alternative cost elements.
