Evaluation of Transit Signal Priority Strategies Through Microsimulation

The District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) is planning and designing a transit signal priority system (TSP) at over 100 signalized intersections where a majority of the intersections are located within the downtown core area. This will be the first major TSP implementation in an urbanized and grid system. This project will develop a microsimulation model of a portion of the study area to assess, test, and refine TSP strategies with DDOT's traffic signal controller logic.
