Getting the Goods without the Bads: Freight Transportation Demand Management Strategies to Reduce Urban Impacts
This project will identify and evaluate strategies to reduce the negative externalities associated with goods movement in urban areas through transportation demand management (TDM) strategies. To evaluate the cost effectiveness of potential strategies; the project will assess the costs associated with highway and rail transportation; develop estimates of strategy costs and impacts, as well as challenges to implementation, through surveys and interviews with implementers; and develop case studies of example freight TDM strategies.
