Using a Rail Simulator in Teaching Land Transportation
Rail Simulator is the train simulation game which brings the railways to life for students. The Simulator comes with a selection of scenarios for included routes. Students can play the game as a first person in the cab, pulling levers, turning cranks, and pushing buttons. The sound, regulated to engine RPM and load and the clicks and knocks from joints and switches in the track combine to make the Rail Simulator a very credible experience for students. A performance analysis is provided at the end of a mission, with a list of each error, and in the case of speeding, a complete break down of where, when, for how long, and how severely you were breaking the limit. It helps students to get to know the capabilities of the train and can give students the opportunity to learn the routes.
