Truck Access and Parking: Improved Parking Information and Reservations for Truckers
The objective of this research projects is to develop, demonstrate, and evaluate a Smart Truck Parking through the application of real-time truck traveler information, including parking availability, routing, and reservations. The purpose is to significantly reduce illegal parking and increase use of existing truck parking capacity. In addition to having a direct influence on the the parking shortage, the smart parking system will also help mitigate and address other truck-related impacts including safety of the traveling public, congestion, air quality, wear and tear on pavement, and economic productivity.
