SEISMIC: The Stiffness Provided by Girders, Decks, and Soffits Framing Into Integral Bent Caps
The proposed research focuses on developing procedures for accurate modeling of the structural behavior of bent caps under seismic loading. Moreover, the research will consider formulating a more efficient method for predicting the gravity load transfer from the bridge deck to the bent cap. For these purposes, analytical and experimental research tasks is proposed.
