Plug-In Hybrid Electric Emissions Characterization and Demonstration
The University of Kansas will conduct the initial environmental assessment study of the Daimler-Chrysler Plug-In Hybrid Electric Bus in partnership with the Electric Power Research Institute. This proposed study will be used to evaluate the suitability of existing federal testing standards as they apply to plug-in hybrid electric technology. A comprehensive emissions and operating profile will aid the US federal certification process and allow better characterization of emissions in Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) models.
