Acquisition of a Thermo-Gravimetric Analyzer and Differential Scanning Calorimeter for Characterization of Materials used in Transportation Research
The primary use of the Analyzer and Calorimeter will be to characterize ceramic membranes and heterogeneous catalysts currently being investigated for viability in the production of alternative fuels. One specific application is the monitoring of oxygen evolution from dense ceramic membranes to characterize oxygen stoichiometry and phase changes at different temperatures on in various oxygen environments. These ceramic membranes have applications in fuel processing reactors, oxygen sensors, and solid oxide fuel cells.
